Ion Aimers

Prolific local restaurateur Ion Aimers has the creative spirit and the management drive that has led him to be named the Ottawa, and the Ontario, "Restaurateur of the Year" in 2 of the last 3 years...and now ZaZaZa is his latest gem he has bestowed upon the Ottawa restaurant community.

Aimers is known locally for starting his famous Gourmet Burger brand "The WORKS" in Ottawa. With 9 years of explosive growth since its inception, the sale was considered a coup for Aimers, and was the talk of the Canadian restaurant community this past fall.

His restaurants are known for far more than just great food, and are considered a superb model in an industry that has traditionally been labelled as tough to succeed in. Where others see nothing...Aimers sees people. It is exactly that one element that he attracts, nurtures and covets in all his businesses...the people. His restaurants have been repeatedly named "Top Employer" and "Fastest Growing" in this community for one reason, and Ion Aimers leads with authority and delegates with ease.

He is highly respected for his leading role in the support of communities and charities in the Ottawa area, with whom he has donated so generously in time, food, and funds. Groups such as Ottawa Food Bank, Ottawa Food-Aid, Snowsuit Fund, Ottawa Heart Institute, Children's Wish Foundation, Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation and United Way are all included in his sights.

Ion adores his delicious Gourmet Pizzeria "ZaZaZa" in tiny New Edinburgh and in the Glebe, which he plans to replicate in other areas of Ottawa starting next year. "Our goal was to bring Ottawa a fresh unique thin crust, a made-daily tomato sauce with bite, and toppings with real pizazz." says Ion. "Our guests say we've succeeded, and because our Pizza is available only one way...hot, fresh and tasty." "The plan is to bring our real thin-crust zaaaa to all the neighbourhoods of Ottawa !!"

Ion is a partner with renowned Chef's Ross & Simon Fraser at "Fraser Cafe" on Springfield Avenue as well, where he can be found at the bar sipping soups or eating their fab fresh healthy fare.
